Pesto

Pesto for Elizabeth

Category: Recipes

This is for Elizabeth, because we're old and we care about these things now. The sweet basil in my garden has peeked out of the soil already. It should make for some delicious summer cuisine.

Serves Four

3-4 Cloves of Garlic (1 heaping TBSP of minced garlic)
1/2 TSP of Salt
3 Cups Fresh Basil Leaves (no stems -- about two packages from produce dept.)
1/2 Cup Olive Oil
1/2 Cup Shredded Parmasan Cheese
Ground Pepper to Taste

Put all ingrededients into blender or food processor. Drizzle olive oil as leaves are blended. Add to pasta (do not add oil to pasta ahead, or pesto sauce will not stick to noodles). Enjoy!

**Can freeze sauce, just omit cheese until you are ready to serve.
