This is from our trip in mid-May to Old Salem located in the heart of Winston-Salem, NC. It is a settlement from the Moravians, who started a mission settlement from Germany in the late 18th Century. It is an excellent and inexpensive day trip for anyone coming to NC. It was a lot like Colonial Williamsburg, but much less costly. People are dressed in period costumes and they demonstrate how things were done during that time period. Winkler's Bakery is a must stop if you go, but get there early. If your interested, go to their website at: http://www.oldsalem.org/
