So I use this website for stock art, because it is more file sharing oriented than direct sales. Which as a designer I really appreciate. Largely because photographers who sell their stock art tend to get very little per image, and the companies who sell them make a fortune. I like the idea that art is shared. I want people to make a living, but not necessarily by lining the pockets of large corporations.
Since I use it so regularly, I thought I'd post something of my own about a year ago just to see what happened. And lo and behold, someone contacted me today from Sweden asking permission to use my stock photo for their non-profit organization's catalog. I am so very flattered. It's been about a year since I posted the photo, and I am sure others have found it useful, but I am so pleased to get this kind of positive feedback. It may seem silly, but the artist ego does need to get stroked every now and again. I think I'll post more stock art. Joseph, I'm on my way deary.
Go me!
And upon further checking, someone used it for their website in New Zealand with super nice compliments. Happy Happy, Joy Joy!!

If you like the idea of sharing art, you might consider tagging some of your Flickr photos with the Creative Commons license - http://www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
Hey, I made the salsa featured in your photo. Where's my credit?
That is great. Now I want fresh salsa. Bad.
That is very, very cool!
That's great! You are wanted by the general public. Run with it baby...run.
Good photo! I love it when people compliment my artwork; every time someone new comes to our apartment and notices some of my paintings, I think my head swells just a little. Just a little. :)
You are SO popular. And talented. And you tell Scott that salsa looks heavenly.
