Scott and I finally remembered to bring the camera with us when we borrowed Phil and Dave's canoe today. We had a great time. We ticked off several herons, a hawk or eagle, and two snakes. The weather following Ernesto was gorgeous. It was in the low 80s by afternoon and there was a nice breeze. We followed it up with a trip to Goodberry's for frozen custard. Mmmm....

That looks like so much fun!

I'm glad you guys got through the rain OK, and that the weather is nice for you now.

It was a lot of fun. From our blog, you'd think we have fun all the time. If only we didn't have school and work....

Ernesto did very little damage where we are. Just blew down some branches and moved some trash cans around.

Funny, I was there the next day. Even in my garage where I rarely spend time loading up the canoe. The big yellow banana serves us well. That beach where you loaded is where Murphy contemplated eating a toddler for lunch. That was why we had to leave her stranded on the tiny island on the other side of the bridge.

Hmm, North Carolina seems so lovely! I'd love to go canoeing and eat some frozen custard.

If you come for a visit you can do both.
