Adventures of Mitzy and Beebe

Several years ago, all the Stewart girls (including Jill) were at our house for an overnight. Beebe and I had both been losing our teeth, and Beebe was working on a good one in the front of her mouth. She really wanted that tooth out, but she was too chicken to pull it. She wiggled it. She tied floss to it and the doorknob for a quick slam. She couldn’t quite bring herself to let my Dad just pull it for her. Eventually she resigned to just walking around with the floss tied to her tooth. It became a big thing the whole time she was at our house. Several of us dedicated a fair amount of time and creativity to the removal of this tooth!

When Walt came to pick up the girls, he brought Mitzy with him. You see Mitzy and Spooky were friends too. Beebe was in the car crying because she had not gotten her pesky tooth out of her mouth as of yet. Walt called to Mitzy because she and Spook were off playing together. Mitzy came running full speed and jumped over the driver seat in the big brown van and landed right in Beebe’s lap pulling the floss and tooth right out.

With tears and blood streaming down her face, she laughed and laughed because it didn’t hurt nearly enough for all the carrying on that she did while she was at our house. The rest of us were just happy that the Stewarts didn’t have to leave right away because Beebe had to go in and rinse her mouth out in our ugly avocado green bathroom. Even Mitzy was rather psyched to be out playing with Spooky again.

I don’t know how much Beebe got from the tooth fairy, or if she got rewarded in any other way (our parents rewarded us with root beer floats a lot in those days). She’ll have to let us know.

I’ve got many more stories just like this one, as does Beebe. Perhaps we’ll both be motivated to post them all. Maybe I can challenge her to post about cheerleader skirts and Princess Leah braids – which to date are the only two fights we have had in our entire lives thus far.

I don't remember Mitzy. I don't remember much about that time. I do remember the leotards and loose teeth. That was a hard decision to make. Whether to pull it out. I support Beebe's decision to allow the dog to do it.

This story tells us a lot about Beebe's personality-- she is still the same way. I also to do not remember very much about that time.

*Katie wasn't there for the simple reason that she had not been born yet but for the "Stewart Followers" out there I don't want to get confused*

Thank you!! That was a wonderful anecdote - keep 'em coming! (Incidentally, I trust your memory tons more than Elizabeth's)

I assure you that Beebe remembers all the same stories I do. We have discussed them many times over the years and had a good laugh. Also, her ability to recall the events from your trip to Wyoming was impressive.
