Happy Birthday to Myself

Photo: Ali Quilt

My birthday is not until Sunday, but I've been having a bit of an off week. In an effort to stop feeling sorry for myself, I made a birthday present for me. I can do that, can't I? I'd like to think so, since I did it. Bean is already looking at it with a naughty gleam in his eye. It's NOT a cat blanket. It's just for me.

Did you just whip that up? Amazing! I bet wrapping up in that bit of shininess brightens any mood. What a way to pamper yourself.

Thats Elizabeth M. I don't know how or why but sometimes I comment with my name and sometimes with chunmon...

I am glad you clarified Beebe. I did just whip it up. It took me about 4-5 hours. I had a pattern to follow, and I bought the fabric a month ago. Even Scott was impressed. He liked to touch the green and blue squares most. They are the silkiest.

I love my new quilt. Bean is still not allowed on it. He tried every which way to get on it yesterday with no success.

That is wonderful! I'm so impressed by my many-talented friends!

Happy Birthday on Sunday!

I didn't mean I have many friends with talents, I meant friends with many talents.

you are SO popular, Ali! And I'm a little embarrassed to admit I couldn't think of who Elizabeth M. was.

That quilt looks very luxurious. Happy Birthday to you is right!

Thanks for the clarification Ann, although I do think you have many friends with talents.

Em, feeling popular is good for birthday week, so thanks for the props. It certainly falls in line with the theme of the weekend festivities. Maybe we need to have superlatives for the event. I still need to find a prom dress. I'll look tomorrow.

Hey. I got a prom dress so you better get one. Also, how difficult was it to sew the silky fabrics together? Was it easier than when we did silky with flannel? By the way. That is super pretty.

I found one. The fabric was a little more difficult because the thread kept coming out of the edges so I had to keep trimming it.
