Ribbit or Aaargh?

I recently found out that my nephew named his toy frog "Scurvy". I am as dumbfounded as his parents. He's turning four and he doesn't watch piratey movies. What the heck?

Pirate Frogs are a little nasty.

I think it is funny that he named his frog "Scurvy." Does he watch Backyardigans? They have a pirate episode and they sing about a "scurvy pirate."

To me, that sounds like a very Yeagley thing to do. Glad that the tradition is being carried on.

As the mother of this nephew, I must say that I do my best to be sure that all Yeagley weirdness is being passed along to my offspring. He's coming along nicely.

P.S. He sneaks into Devin's itunes for his IPOD which happens to contain pirates of the carribean. Every so often, he manages to watch for a bit until we catch him (usually when we are still asleep on the weekends as all good teachers should be).

I must say, I was hoping for something cute and animated in the pirate frogs. Maybe to decorate a nursery, you know.

Sorry to disappoint you Emily. Today is talk like a pirate day though.

Kermit was a very good ship captain overtaken by pirates on the Muppet Treasure Island. He didn't talk like a pirate though. Just like his normal old Kermity self.
