We finally got out of Vegas yesterday morning and landed in Portland around 10:15AM. My mother picked us up after dropping Jakey at his bone doctor for his broken arm exam. I finally got real food at Chipotle. Best Chipotle I ever had, not because of anything other than the fact that I was still starving from the day before.
After getting settled at my parents, Hubby and I took my dad's car and headed, by accident, to one of the best hipster neighborhoods in Portland. We walked the streets in search of interesting things in crazy hipster stores and we weren't disappointed. Hubby was wishing he brought our camera, but he didn't think he would need it for shopping. Oops.
We went to the famous Powell's Book store downtown and walked around a little more. After that we went to dinner with my parents at my favorite Portland restaurant with the roof garden. They handle my food allergies like pros. I ate the most delicious soup of my life and it came in a beaker. Very fun.
I think that if Cousin Liz ever leaves my Southern state, that this is where she should live. This place just screams Cousin Liz. Today we are off to the Columbia River Gorge. We won't forget the camera. We will be stopping at IKEA on the way back. Fun, fun.

Sounds like yesterday more than made up for a staying in Vegas starving. I am glad you are taking your camera today.
I had to go look up "hipster." Does that tell you how behind the times I am? Although, the look is that of my b.i.l's--but not the rest.
